Home > Barack Obama > Obama Gaffes: As Common As A “Potatoe”

Why has the media just now started to cover the continuous stream of gaffes made by Barack Obama? Because there is no way around it anymore. There are far too many to ignore, but trust me – the drive by media certainly wishes they could ignore them. Everyone remember Dan Quayle misspelling “Potatoe”. How long were we beat over the head with that one?

Lets have a little peek at the Obama gaffes here:

May 8, 2007 (Richmond, Va) “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed,” He gave this speech at a campaign fundraiser in Richmond, Va. The only problem is that 11 people died, not 10,000.

August 7, 2007 (Chicago, IL)“I would immediately call the president of Mexico, the president of Canada, to try to amend NAFTA, because I think that we can get labor agreements in that agreement right now.” This might be a small one, but not so insignificant. Our neighbors to the north have been under a parliamentary system of government for more then 140 years and does not have a President.

March 7, 2008“There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Having a Hillary moment, Barack? Obama was born in 1961. The march in Selma occurred in 1965. But, hey, if he had checked his birth certificate, he would have known that.

May 9, 2008 (Beaverton, OR)“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.  One left to go. Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to…” He wants to be the uniter of all 60 states.

May 13, 2008 (Cape Girardeau, MO) – In speaking about the necessity of translators for the war: “We only have a certain number of them, and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” Well using them in Afghanistan would be a little tough since they are Arabic translators and Afghans do not speak Arabic.

May 16, 2008 (Sioux Falls, SD)“Thank you, Sioux City. … I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.” Wow. a double gaffe. Keep ’em coming, Barack.

May 19, 2008 – “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” He lost his map and must have forgotten where all 60 states were located. How can he not know that Illinois borders Kentucky but Arkansas does not. I guess to him, all those gun grabbing, bible thumping red necks are all the same down there in the middle.

May 26, 2008 (Las Cruces, NM)“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, and I see many of them in the audience here today…” He either has the “6th sense” and he can see dead people or he doesn’t understand what Memorial Day is.

I am cutting it off here because there are far too many to post so I will continue this in another post at a later date. But you get the idea. Take Dan Quayle, HW and W and add all their cumulative gaffes together over a period of 12 years and it still doesn’t add up to Barack “Gaffe-O-Rama” Obama’s gaffes in the past year.
