Late Friday night, Senator Obama selected Deleware Senator Joe Biden as his choice of Vice President.
Republican’s could not have asked for a better gift. You see, he had more conservative people on his list that he could have picked which would have balanced the ticket. For example, Evan Bayh is a touch more conservative than Joe Biden and would have been a better balance to the ticket. As Governor, Bayh impleted the largest tax cut in the history of the state. He was an early supporter of President Bush’s Iraq war policy and voted twice for the Patriot Act and he is a pro-life democrat.
Biden, on the other hand, is staunchly pro-choice, in favor of class envy in the form of huge tax increases on the evil “rich” people of the country, and holds the honor of being in a tie for the 2nd most liberal member of the United States Senate.
When you take his Illinois State Senate experience into account, Obama is tied for most liberal member of the United States Senate, supporting huge tax increases, opposing the right to life, opposing the ability to make a success of yourself, supporting more government than we’ve ever had and a government take-over of health care. When reviewing just his U.S. Senate inexperience, Obama holds the title of 5th most liberal member all by himself.
The purpose of a Vice Presidential running mate is to balance your ticket and help you in a state you would otherwise have a rough time winning. Biden does neither of these things. Putting the 2nd most liberal member and the 5th most liberal members on a ticket together makes one VERY lopsided ticket.
It’s all up to McCain now. If he picks a conservative to balance his slight liberalism, he wins in November. Hands-down. He needs Mit Romney.
