Home > John McCain > Palin In; Romney, Pawlenty Out

I am editing this post from the original post an hour ago.

If it was not going to be Romeny, Im glad it’s PALIN.

Gov. Sarah Palin took on the most corrupt Republican Party in the country…The Alaska Republican Party. From day 1, she began her fight against the corruption in her own party. Corruption plays big on the minds of all voters and taking Palin on as his Vice President was nothing less than brilliant.

In a previous post, I overlooked the things Palin can bring to the ticket. First, she is a Female. Female voters wont flock to McCain because of her, but she will get a certain percentage of those Clinton supporters who may be pro-life. She will bring those women to us who only wanted a woman on the ticket.

Second, she is young. All the imaginary angst over McCain’s age will be eased by her.

She is beautiful and has a beautiful family and she is a true conservative.

Palin is well rounded as a former executive for a company, mayor of a city and Governor of Alaska. She was a fisherman and is a hockey player.  Talk about relating to the “regular guy”.

GO MCCAIN PALIN!!!  I will be very proud to cast my vote for McCain/Palin.

You said in an earlier post that Palin would not be much of an advantage because Alaska’s 3 electoral votes were already in the bank. Now that she’s on the ticket let’s hope that she helps lock up some electoral votes from other western states [ie Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada]. My bet is that she will.

Said one Australian commenter: “OK I admit, my very first thoughts were, “what”, then post her speech I think, “stirring “, moreover, after some research, “home run.” Palin is going to drive the left nuts….

Yes…I did say that. And that hasn’t changed. Michigan’s EC votes are definitely NOT coming to McCain now, but the conservative base will be solidly lined up behind McCain. The base has been welcomed home by McCain with this choice.

As for picking up other electoral votes….Colorado? Ehhhhh. Very slight possibility that she could help keep Colorado.

New Mexico….Most certainly not… and Nevada wasnt going anywhere anyway. Has been and will remain in the RED column. I think Romney’s willingness to help McCain/Palin will solidify Nevada for McCain.

The slightest possibility does exist that she could help in Oregon and Washington State although, Washington State was one of those states where the Dems increased their margin between 2000 and 2004, so not very likely.

Oregon is a state where the dems went from 445,000 vote lead in 1992 to a 7,000 vote lead in 2000 and a 76,000 vote lead in 2004. Palin can help get Oregon’s 7 EC votes.

Ryan, you know me and how I always felt about John McCain. After the selection of Palin, I signed up on the McCain web site to be a “Team Member”…Can you believe that? If Palin brought me home, she’s bringing millions of others home.
